sam, down by the fireI don't take as many pictures of Sam as I would like. When we met, we went to work and hung out; That was about it. Took pictures of each other all the time. It's a far cry from the bill paying, baby raising, house hunting, career planning, money watching, exhausted worriers we've become. This vacation, and this project, have been a nice return to capturing what we see of each other.
I took a picture of Gram Bev's hand because I thought it was a good shot, and she has a compulsion to look straight into the camera. What Sam and I pride ourselves on, and ever are trying to improve, is our photojournalistic style. Looking at the camera is not that; We all sometimes do it though. So I've been working on tricks to capture people who are camera watchers. More shots of hands. More shots with the focus on someone interacting with the camera watcher. We'll see what happens.
